Electric Trunk Drive Back Door for the GWM Tank 500
Power tail door lift gate open retrofit · premium off road SUVOwners of the Tank 500 paid for a full size off roader with a luxury cabin, and then discover that the tail door still needs a firm hand: the panel is broad, the hinge sits high, and the spare wheel on the carrier adds a load the factory struts were only just managing when new. Add two winters, a dusty season and a set of recovery gear bolted to the door, and the door starts to sink before the latch engages.
Our conversion fits twin motorised actuators on the untouched hinge and ball studs, adds a compact controller behind the rear trim, and takes power from the rear fuse box. The original plugs stay in place, nothing is drilled or cut, and the door can be returned to standard trim if the car is traded.

▸Installation in four stages
- Hold the tail door open, unseat both factory struts from the ball studs and store them in the boot.
- Mount the forged brackets and seat the motorised actuators in the original strut location.
- Feed the harness alongside the factory loom through the tail gate grommet and connect the controller.
- Fit the dash switch, set the height limit, cycle twice and verify reverse and park interlock.
▸Packing and commercial terms
Actuator pairs are cradled in dual foam blocks inside a reinforced carton of 96x30x28 cm, one set per carton, with fasteners grouped by corner and instructions printed in English, Russian or Arabic. Before sealing, each set is run for force curve, current draw, park interlock and reverse response. Importers can request neutral or private label cartons, own part numbers and translated manuals, and we keep actuators, controllers and switches in stock so a claim is settled without waiting for a container.
