Electric Trunk Lift Kit for the Haval F5
Automatic power tailgate retrofit · kick sensor · soft closeThe Haval F5 is a compact SUV sold across the Middle East, Latin America, Russia and Southeast Asia, and most of those units left the line with gas struts and a hand pulled tail door. Loading a boot full of boxes or a pushchair then means freeing a hand to reach the handle and pulling the door down hard enough to latch it. This kit turns that rear door into a motor driven unit that answers the key fob, the factory tail door button and a switch on the dashboard, using the original hinge and latch mounts so nothing on the body shell has to be cut or drilled.
The actuator pair is valved for the F5 door weight and hinge geometry, so the lift is smooth, the door holds wherever it is released, and the last few centimetres are damped instead of slammed. Every set is assembled and bench tested before it leaves the workshop, and the harness plugs into the factory connector layout, which is why most buyers finish the job in under two hours with hand tools.
Three reasons distributors stock this kit
Twin motor driven struts replace the original gas units on the same ball studs. Load is rated at 620 N per side, which covers the F5 rear door plus a light wind deflector, and the module reads motor current to hold the door at any intermediate angle.
The original remote becomes the opener. A long press on the unlock key lifts the door, a second press brings it down, and the factory handle button keeps working exactly as it did before, so drivers need no new habits and no extra fob.
The harness is pre terminated with the matching plugs and follows the factory loom path through the tail gate grommet. No splicing into the CAN network, no cutting of the original wires, and the whole kit can be returned to stock trim if the vehicle is resold.

Fitting notes
- Hold the tail door open with a prop, then unclip both original gas struts from the ball studs.
- Fit the supplied brackets and mount the motorised struts in the same orientation as the units removed.
- Run the harness alongside the factory loom through the tail gate grommet and plug into the module.
- Connect the dash switch, set the preferred opening height, then cycle the door twice and check that the pinch guard reverses on contact.
Packing and trade terms
Each set travels in a moulded EPE tray inside a printed carton measuring 84x24x23 cm, two sets to an export master carton, with fastener bags separated by mounting position so the installer never has to guess. Every unit is checked for motor current draw, harness continuity and pinch guard response before it is sealed.
