Aftermarket Power Liftgate Retrofit - Dongfeng Forthing T5 / Farda T5
The Forthing T5, sold in several markets as the Farda T5, has a wide rear hatch that sits high off the ground. Closing it by hand is a stretch for many drivers and a nuisance in rain. This retrofit gives the tailgate its own motor drive: two powered struts replace the gas springs, a module taps into the existing latch wiring, and the hatch opens and closes on command. The kit installs on the original fixing points, so the body is never modified and the vehicle can be returned to factory specification.
Model Line-Up Note
The T5, T5 Evo and Friday EV use different rear apertures, so this kit is specific to the T5 body. It is not interchangeable with the Evo or EV versions. When ordering for a market where the car is badged Farda T5, the same part applies; we only need the model year to confirm the spring length used on that production run.

Operating Logic and Safety
Commands arrive from four sources: the factory remote, the cabin button, the rear handle switch or the foot sensor. The module verifies the gear position first, then releases the latch and drives the struts through a soft-start curve. Current is sampled many times per second; any anomaly stops the panel and reverses it, so a hand, a bicycle or a pet is never trapped. Two open heights can be memorised, which covers low car parks and shorter drivers. At the end of travel the panel is drawn in gently rather than dropped, protecting the latch and the weather seals. With the ignition off the system falls asleep after 30 seconds and draws almost nothing.

Dealer Programme
Workshops fitting several T5 units per month can order in cartons of two or four sets with a shared manual pack. We can print dealer branding on the carton and manual from 200 sets, supply a laminated torque and routing sheet for the workshop wall, and provide a spare-parts list covering actuators, modules, harnesses, switches and brackets. Fleet customers receive a consolidated packing list so each vehicle kit can be booked out separately.
Packing and Lead Time
Single sets travel in a foam-lined carton of 79 x 21 x 19 cm; two sets in 82 x 25 x 36 cm. Every carton includes a moisture barrier bag and step-numbered fastener packs. Bulk lead time is 8 to 18 working days, with stock dispatch inside 5 days when available. Air, sea and express shipping are all quoted on request, and technical questions are answered in English within one working day.
