Foot Sensor Tailgate Kit - Dongfeng Fengshen Aeolus Yixuan GS
The Yixuan GS hatch is light enough to lift but awkward to reach once shopping, tools or a pram occupy both hands. This retrofit puts a geared actuator in place of each factory gas strut and a controller on the existing wiring run, so the boot answers to a fob press, an in-cabin button or a foot movement behind the bumper. The kit is built around the Yixuan GS mounting geometry: brackets bolt to the original studs, connectors mate with the factory plugs, and the interior trim is simply refitted afterwards.
Working Principle
The controller watches the latch signal and the motor current at the same time. When a valid trigger arrives it releases the latch, then drives both actuators forward through a ramped acceleration curve. Current is sampled continuously; any spike outside the normal band is read as an obstruction, so the panel stops, backs off and waits for a new command. Because the module keeps the factory latch motor in the loop, central locking, alarm state and the manual release all behave exactly as before.

Fitting in Four Steps
- Isolate the battery, unclip the original struts and store them with the vehicle documents.
- Fix the galvanised brackets to the existing attachment points and clip in the powered struts.
- Run the supplied loom along the factory path, plug into the body connector, mount the control box.
- Refit the trim, restore power and complete the two-cycle learning routine, then store the height limit.
Allow 60 to 90 minutes for the first vehicle; experienced fitters usually finish in well under an hour. No metal cutting, welding or painting is involved at any stage.
What Comes in the Box
Two powered struts, one control module, vehicle harness, left and right brackets with matched bolts, a dash switch, a foot sensor with bracket, spare fuse, cable ties, written notes on the three trigger routes, and a photo guide in English. Fasteners are bagged by step number so nothing has to be sorted on the floor.

Confirm the model year before ordering, since bracket sets differ between pre-facelift and facelift Yixuan GS bodies. Tell us if the car has a factory roof spoiler or an aftermarket bike rack, because both change the safe opening height.
