Retrofit Auto Power Tailgate Back Door System for the GAC Trumpchi GE3
A compact EV SUV deserves a rear door that opens by itself. This set converts the GE3 manual tailgate into a powered one: two electric actuators replace the gas springs, and a control module handles opening, closing, obstacle detection and the soft final latch pull.
What's in the Carton
- 2 electric actuators rated 450 N, handed left and right
- 1 control module pre-configured for the GE3 body controller
- 1 hinge bracket set with mounting hardware
- 1 cabin switch and 1 tailgate release button
- 1 fused wiring harness with moulded plugs
- 1 optional kick sensor bar, supplied loose
- 1 printed manual with torque values and self-learn steps
Performance
- Opening time about 5 seconds, closing about 6 seconds, with a damped approach to the latch.
- Reverse on contact in under 0.3 seconds, using hall position feedback and a current monitor.
- Three beeps warn before movement; the sequence stops instantly on a second command.
- Opening point can be stored, useful in narrow garages where a full-height door would hit a beam.
- Standby draw below 2 mA, so a parked car left for weeks still starts normally.

Installation Notes
Brackets bolt to the factory hinge points and the harness follows the existing boot loom, so nothing on the body shell is modified. A workshop needs around 90 minutes for the first unit and less on repeat cars. Factory latch, central locking and alarm behaviour remain unchanged, and the manual release stays usable.

Each set ships in a 76 x 22 x 19 cm carton with the actuators in foam sleeves and hardware in numbered bags; six cartons fit a master carton. Replacement actuators, modules and switches are kept in stock for the warranty period, and our support team answers fitting questions by e-mail or video call.
