Smart Tailgate Kit for the GAC Aion Y Plus
The Y Plus works hard in daily service: school runs, airport drops, ride-hailing shifts and weekend trips. This conversion kit gives its rear door motor drive, so the lid opens on a command and closes itself with a soft latch pull instead of a slam.
What Changes on the Car
Both gas springs are replaced by electric actuators. A module is added behind the rear quarter trim, tapped into the factory loom through moulded plugs. Nothing on the body shell is cut, the factory latch and alarm keep working, and the door can still be moved by hand if power is ever lost.
Selling Points
- OEM supported signals – the original remote button and the cabin switch both trigger the cycle, so drivers keep their habits.
- Tailgate soft close kit – the last centimetres are pulled in by the motor, which protects the latch on cars that open the boot fifty times a day.
- Smart tailgate kit – opening height, warning beeps and reverse-on-contact are all handled by one module.
- Foot sensor ready – an optional sensor bar opens the door on a foot sweep, which matters when both hands hold luggage.
- Park-only logic – commands are ignored outside P, so the door cannot move while the car is rolling.
- Weather sealed drive – IPX5 actuators and sealed connectors suit humid coastal markets and dusty inland roads.
Compatibility
Prepared for the Aion Y Plus body. Bracket bolt spacing follows the factory hinge points, and the harness routes through the existing boot grommet. Left and right actuators are handed, so fitment is symmetric and the door sits square.

Packing
One vehicle set per carton, 80 x 24 x 20 cm. Actuators lie in moulded pulp, the module is boxed separately inside the carton, and hardware is counted into numbered bags. Four cartons fit a master carton, and neutral or customer-branded printing is available.
Notes for Buyers
The foot sensor is an optional line item and ships in its own small carton. For fleet orders we can pre-set the opening height and add a fleet identification label. Sample orders are welcome before volume purchase.
